Day by day with Jay

Lots of happenings lately. Jay has been busy lately, playgroups, birthdays and just being a kid! Here are some pictures...

Jay loved Sydneys talking Elmo toy at playgroup...

He also found all of her balls and pulled them out to chase

They then made their way to the glass table, they LOVED it and had so much fun playing on it...

For the past few weeks, Jay has been a little under the weather. Because of that we have missed a few playgroups and he has not been able to hang out with his usual group of friends. Today we went to our Tuesday playgroup and the kid was all smiles! He loved seeing all his buddies and was crawling all over the place. His toy of choice today was definitely the car...

Hank was having a fun time pushing Jay around

He loved the phone in the car...

Hey Hank get back here...

Oh hey there Sydney, want a ride???

After the car fun he tried out the slide.. weeeeeeeeeeeeee

There are two sides to every story. The Big Bad Wolf says his is the true story. This is a hilarious inventive retelling of the popular story which Publishers Weekly called the 'Funniest book of the year’. In this highly interactive production, the audience joins reporter Random Adjective in using detective reporting skills, and the 5 W’s and an H of storytelling, to uncover the truth.

On Saturday Jay went to the theater for the very first time. He met up with 2 of his friends Lauren and Charlie before the show.

This was such a fun time, although the play was intended for children 3+ Jay had no problem having a good time. His eyes were glues to the characters, (maybe because they were all wearing pig noses) and he loved the lighting and all the music.

As if all the excitement of his first show was not enough, Jay was also able to meet the characters after the play...

jail?

No no no! Jay did not get sent to jail, he is simply furthering his stair climbing skills.

But this guy on the other hand? Well jail may not be to far off...

New Solids

I read on a website recently that at the one year mark, babies no longer need formula or breast milk. They can begin to transition to regular milk. Also, they can really start relying on "regular" food for their nutrition. This is scary to me because I am still nervous about giving Jay chunky food. I feel like he is going to choke. Yes I feed him in the kitchen and yes I have the chart on how to perform infant CPR right there in front of me but I just don't like the thought of it. However, I know I need to get over it and start incorporating more "chunky" food into his diet. I am still feeding him level 2-3 baby food, which does have chunks but they basically dissolve once he gums it a few times. A friend suggested baby pasta, so I cooked some up, put some butter on it and had him try it. He was not that interested in it but I felt it was a step in the right direction...

Invitations are out!

Handmade by mom especially for Jay, here they are....

Are we really already sending out party invitations for a first birthday? Where did this past year go? Well, I guess I could just scroll down and see huh? (That is the reason we have this blog :) Seems like just yesterday Loren and I were looking at each other saying now what. Now almost a full year later we are sure feeling confident.

Jay got a cookie monster stuffed animal in the mail and is really getting excited for his party! Here he is squeezing his new toy!

Hey Girl, Hey...

Today we had swimming lessons and Jay met a little lady....

When he gets into the locker room he likes to get right down to business, like getting his swim diaper on...

Look at this picture closely, do you see someone in the far upper left checking Jay out? Yup!! Thats a little 17 month old girl named Annabelle who came crawling up to Jay from across the locker room.

SOOO CUTE!!! If it were only that easy to meet someone that way when you got older. It was so funny watching them communicate. They got ready for swimming together and then hit the pool. After class Annabelle came back up to Jay and shared his puffs.

What a fun afternoon, Jay sure left tired...
