Midwest Roots Win!

Feeling Better!
Jay has been taking his strep throat medicine like a champ! He actually gets really excited for it every time. Who can resist that bubble gum flavored medicine? Yum Yum!!

So Loren and I have been getting really serious about looking at homes in the suburbs and we have officially decided to stay in Illinois. After making a few trips to Denver house hunting we feel the Western Chicago suburbs are more for us. Denver is absolutely beautiful however so is the good ole Midwest! So western suburbs here we come!!!

Last weekend we went out with our real estate agent and Jay spent the day with his cousins. If someone asks us why we want to move to the suburbs? Here is my reason...
Let me explain...
So we dropped Jay off at his cousins house around 10:00am, looked at homes for a few hours and then came back. This is what we shortly walked into to... a full blown costume party with the neighborhood kids. It was so sweet and the kids were having so much fun! Jay tried to keep up with them but these guys were on the go! One of the main reasons we are moving to the suburbs is so Jay has more room and we can spread out a bit. Not to mention 100 other things (no more 3 flights of stairs, tiny garage space, traffic, crowds, $$, etc) how cute it was to see these little kids go back and forth as they pleased between each others homes.

Aside from all the new home buzz Jay has been keeping pretty busy in the house when we are not able to get out for walks.

As I said in the last post, he is really into hiding things and setting them up on tables or chairs.

But even though hes got some new tricks he still loves making a mess in the kitchen. And this guy is QUICK! He can turn a clean kitchen into a total disaster in about 30 seconds!

All that mess making can make a guy need a snack...

Oh and here is one of my absolute favorite pictures. Last week he pulled his first toy out of the cereal box - so funny!

Ahhh! Child instruction manual please...

So the last few days Jay has not been feeling that great. He has had a little runny nose, a fever that comes and goes and just not himself. I took him into the doctor last night and guess what? He has strep throat!!! What? How could that happen? Not one person I know has strep throat. I asked the doctor and she said its going around and he probably got it from the playground - great! So after his doctor appt we went straight to the pharmacy to get his prescription filled. The drive thru pharmacy I may add! How awesome is that? As Jay slept in the back seat I waited for his antibiotic to be filled. When we got home I gave him some food (not supposed to take the medicine on an empty stomach) he seemed really hot so as he was eating I gave him some Motrin and his prescription, little did i know what I was in for... After he ate a little I put him in his jammies and took his temperature 104.8!!!! Are you kidding me???? What do I do? That is so high! I called the doctor and she said to get him in a luke warm bath to get the fever down. His little teeth were chattering like he was freezing but he was burning up! Poor little guy!

In the middle of all of this poor Loren, who has been gone for a week walks in. We were both a little panicked but fortunately the pediatrician calmed us down and we were able to get his fever down to around 103 before he went to sleep.

I slept on the couch to make sure I could run in there if he needed me. The little booger slept thru the whole night and got up at 8:00 this morning. I took his temperature and he is back to normal! Thank God! He ate his breakfast and is now waking up from his morning nap. Ahhh who knew how much stress a little angel can stir up. We are relaxing today, kind of.... Of coarse we have a showing tonight. Fun fun!!!

Fun at the Playground

Last week was so nice so we decided to try out the park. It was a total zoo as everyone is getting a little tired of the cold cabin fever. jay is still not walking but had so much fun cruising around.

The swing is still a big favorite!

Jay and his friend Sydney

He loved just standing at the teeter-totter and taking everything in. His little eyeballs were moving so fast checking everything out!

Same with the top of the jungle gym, he loved just sitting up there watching everything

We have also been trying to go on some walks at the lake.

Who needs the zoo when you can find this kind of wild life.....

Jay loved watching the birds, little does he know if you get to close they chase you! Seriously! These Chicago geese are NOT friendly and NOT afraid of people!

We were at the grocery store the other day and Jay grabbed a box of crayons as we passed them in the isle. I thought hey maybe he's telling me he wants to color...

Hummm not exactly he had more fun chewing on them

Jay has been starting to do some really funny things. He's into hiding things and finding them. For example this ball. He had so much fun setting it up on the chair behind the post and then grabbing it.

The past few nights Jay has not been sleeping to well. I thought maybe it was a combo of teething and maybe a little cold but them i noticed his little eye ball was swollen - poor little guy :(
