I have not been very good at updating my blog, I just seem to ALWAYS have something to do!!! So the past few weeks we have gotten out and done quite a few things. We went to the Quad Cities for a long family weekend to visit grandma and grandpa Raber.

We took a family picture while we were all together so look out I have a feeling it may be grandma Raber's Christmas card this year :)
Jay also went on his first boat ride.
We took a little cruise up the Mississippi River. It was a beautiful day and Jay loved snuggling up to his dad

I was a little over protective, I put a ton of sunscreen on him because he was going to be out in the sun. Sure enough when we got home and gave him a bath he had red bumps all over him. Poor little guy, his skin is so sensitive and I should have read the bottle BEFORE I put it on him, it said 6 months and older. Luckily by the next day all the bumps we just about gone.
Now I am really getting used to taking Jay with me all over the place. He is the best accessory a girl could ever want! However, I will say carrying his car seat around with me up and down the stairs and in and out of stores is really starting to get heavy. The car seat we got said he can be in it until he is 30 lbs YEAH RIGHT! There is no way I will be carrying that thing around when he is 30 lbs. (although he is a little over 1/2 way there right now!).
As for sleeping, I know I jinxed myself last time I said he was such a great sleeper but he really is doing great. He has been in his crib down in his room for about a month now. It was really hard in the beginning because his room is downstairs and ours is upstairs. We feared we would not hear the monitor and he would be needing something. Well so far so good and I am happy to say he has been getting everything he needs and maybe even a few extra hugs and kisses! Oh the funniest thing he has been doing the past few weeks is kicking in his bed. He kicks and kicks and KICKS in his crib, it is so loud I can hear it all the way upstairs. It is so funny! We watch it on the monitor a lot - he seems to not only do it when he is awake but also when he is asleep. You should see these little legs going wild. They so high in the air and then he slams them down on his mattress - what an ab workout!
Here is a picture of him in the cart at Target, he just melts my heart he is always smiling at me! No one warned me I would ever love him THIS much!!!!!
We have been hanging out a lot with Kendra and Jackson (Jay's best friend)
And we have been going to our big play group get togethers on Thursdays, these are pictures from yesterdays get together...

Jay and Alex holding hands
The crew doing tummy time, except for Jay he wanted to smile at his mommy :)

I have also been doing new things with Jay, for example he has been going to the gym with me once a week, he has been trying out his new bumbo seat (although it was a little tight on his legs, the guy has some legs), we have been doing a lot of tummy time and he is now really grabbing for things in his little play area.
His head and neck have really gotten strong, he can hold them up great. Now we are working on learning how to sit up.
He has been doing a great job and working so hard on getting strong but sometimes all he really wants to do is relax and suck his thumb ...
When you are as cute as that and you smile so happily at your mom and dad, you can have anything you want! We love our little Jay!
