9 Month Appointment

Jay went to the pediatrician today for his 9 month check up. He is exactly 9 months and 1 day old today! Pretty scary that when I left I was scheduling his 1 year appt. So he weighed in at 20.5lbs (50% percentile) 29" long (75% percentile). I could have sworn he weighed at least 23lbs. He has gotten so heavy and my back has been KILLING ME!!! I have to stop carrying him around so much. At the rate I'm going he will not be walking until he's 5! The pediatrician gave me some techniques to use to get him ready to crawl and pull himself up. He has just gotten into standing while holding on so the next step is to have him crawl and pull up on his own. He also got the green light to start on all solid foods, as in actually eating chunks of food rather than everything in apple sauce consistency. I have to say I was a bit nervous, I am just so afraid I will not perform CPR right if I need it. I know I probably sound crazy but its all so new for him, how does he know how to chew and make the pieces small enough that he can swallow safely? Tonight I cut up small pieces of a really ripe banana, an avacado and sprinkled some sherdded cheese on his plate. He did so well and really liked it!

Schools Out!

Hard to believe we have already finished our 12 week Chicago Park District class. We have been going every Tuesday from 11:30 - 12:15. It was really nice for Jay to be able to have something every week planned with his friends(mom too!). Grammy was here for a week this month to visit Jay and his cousins. She came with us to class this past Tuesday.

They are now really starting to get mobile. Jay loves to stand while holding on to something. At class last Tuesday all the kids were grouped around the one toy that they could stand on.

Here he is with Jackson...

Jay went for 45minutes without a bib and look at his sweater... drool machine!

Last night I was on the couch playing with Jay. Katie had given us some new "hand me down" toys, they all lit up and made all sorts of noises. So I turned the lights off and put some of the toys on the couch so he could watch the lights. He was sooo funny! He grabbed this fish tank (which is not new) and kept pulling it and trying to stick his head in it. He was having so much fun watching the lights and sounds! His feet were kicking and he was making so many funny noises.

Today is Thursday and that means its playgroup day! Here is Jay with a few of his buddies hanging out.

Look at his face, He is laughing so hard!

All of a sudden, he is really into plastic stacking cups.. he would not let this one go! Note to Santa...

Standing up flirting with Sydney, what a cute little couple!

I hosted a knitting party with a few of my friends about 5 months ago and I learned how to make hats. They are so easy to do! I made one for me and 2 for Jay! They were so cute I decided to make one for each of Jays friends for early Christmas gifts. The babies loved them (okay actually the moms did) look at how cute this picture is...

Nothing cuter than a bunch of adorable babies together!

Evy hosted todays playgroup and made some thanksgiving crafts for the babies to take home. Look at how cute this is! Jay traces his hand and turns it into a turkey!

That little hand will be twice the size next year!

'Tis The Season

Only 40 days till Christmas!!! So this year we have to get the traditional "sit on Santa's lap" picture. I have heard horror stories on how long the lines can be so we decided to think ahead to beat the crowds. I heard Santa just came to Macy's on State Street last weekend and will be there until Christmas Eve. So we decided to get Jay all dressed up in his brand new Christmas outfit and go downtown to see Santa.

Sure its early but we will definitely not be standing in any lines. We got there around 4:30pm and they closed at 5:00, surprisingly there were others there as well but definitely no line to wait in. Jay had a nice little conversation with Santa and told him exactly what he wanted. It was so sweet to see Jays face trying to figure out Santa, he could not get his eyes off of his big fuzzy beard.

Ok so we wanted to get in to have a word with Santa too...

In the next few weeks you will all get "the" picture that we are using for our Christmas card so keep a look out.

Last weekend we went to Denver to look into different areas to possibly move to in the next year or so. We are quickly growing out of our condo and the 3 flights of stairs aren't getting any easier. So we flew out last Thursday and Jay did so well on the plane.

Loren was listening to his iPod and Jay wanted to try them out... his little face was so surprised when we put the headphones and music.

We liked one area in particular but we are still deciding on what we want to do. There are a lot of things to consider so we are not making any decisions quickly.

And here are just some pictures of Jay from dinner tonight. He is really starting starting to show his personality and he is so funny. Here he is being silly and making faces.
